We’re still in 2007 but it’s less than one month before the first primary and I’ve been following closely the US election primaries and I wanted to share a great resource for learning more about the presidential candidates: PBS.org. They have a great site with archives of interviews with all candidates and they are all quite informative.
Will we have another Clinton in the House to complete the 20 years of Bush-Clinton lead US Governments or will we get someone with fresh ideas – who doesn’t want to attack IRAN? If you’ve had the chance to hear all the candidates speak, or if you check out the PBS.org site, you will see that there is more to this election than “Islamo-fascism” & “immigration” and that many candidates have very interesting ideas to offer.
Of course, any talk of a US election without touching on the financing of the candidates is incomplete. Worry not as I have found a great interactive gem to help shed some light on the complex web of political donations.
This social networking tool—new to OpenSecrets.org for the ’08 election—illustrates links between candidates and donors. Included in this web are the 5 top contributors and industries (including ties) to each of the candidates we profile. Click on a bubble to start making connections among candidates, their top-giving industries and top contributors
