my cruiser deck
Softer & bigger wheels have allowed me to rediscover the joy of cruising my Vancouver streets and I’ve been making the most of my hood’s surrounding mellow hills with my new Cliché Cruiser deck.
my cruiser
All the years of riding harder and smaller wheels (usually 53s for me) on my regular deck had tampered with the joy of simply going out and about the not-always-so-great streets and cruise around. No need for the perfectly smooth concrete that is so enjoyable and ever so present in all the area’s skateparks, simply out the door to enjoy some carving and hill bombing.
This new deck has brought back sweet memories of my teenage years (we rode softer wheels back then…) when we’d spend long nights bombing hills in Quebec City; the classic route would go from upper Grande Allée all the way to what is now the Marché du Vieux Port. It’s a traffic prone route which his why we’d bomb it late during hot summer nights, with sometimes the posse 15 deep. I’d love to give it another shot one of these days.
On a similar note, an old friend of mine from Québec City and long time longboard aficionado has recently launched his own little skate project: Fullbag.
