Guess who?

I recently discovered Noma Bar’s caricature’s, powerful pieces of art by their simplicity. Using solid colors with ingenious common objects, he manages to reveal a lot of his subjects’ character.

He does not shy away from controversy but not all of his subjects are political. Guess who this next one is?

If you recognized Tony Soprano then you’re a true fan. Here’s what the Creative Review had to say about the artist:

Israeli illustrator Noma Bar depicts the faces of the famous using only a few lines, colours and drawn objects. But the key to the success of the London-based artist’s work is how the objects he assembles to create each face immediately relate to the particular person in question: evoking their personality, reputation or, even, their ideology.

His book “Guess Who? The many faces of Noma Bar” is out at Mark Batty Publishing.

It requires skilled eyes and hands for artists to render subjects by translating their personalities, physical traits and careers into a few well-executed lines. Having worked for such publications as The New York Times, Esquire, The Guardian and Time Out London, Noma Bar is one artist capable of such visual feats.A true cross-over book, Guess Who? The Many Faces of Noma Bar will appeal to graphic designers and pop-culture fans alike.

Speaking of ideology, this next one is quite impressive.

Although quite a serious subject, somehow I’m never capable of not thinking of how Team America: World Police portrayed Kim-Jong Il every time I see him…
